""Thanks to Cal Coastal SBDC and the excellent guidance of the consultant they assigned to me, I was able to apply for and receive a PPP loan/grant within just a matter of days in August of 2020. In fact, I was approved barely three hours after submitting my application, having been guided every step of the way. I would certainly not have been so successful without the patient assistance, the timely “beyond-the-call-of-duty” advice, and extensive information I was given. As the sole proprietor of a language services business, I was able to replace some of the essential income I had lost during those most difficult months and to keep my business alive. Such support served to lift my spirits at a crucial time and fueled the optimism that enabled me to move forward until I could revitalize my business and client relationships. " Adele Negro, business owner.

Cal Coastal SBDC provided 7 hours of COVID-19 related counseling.

Adele came to the SBDC in mid-2020 looking for assistance with navigating the CARES Act loan programs.  Cal Coastal SBDC was able to assist her with applying for and securing a Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) loan for her business and also helped her to apply for the CA Relief Grant  while determining the need for a 2nd draw PPP loan. Adele decided she would rather have Cal Coastal SBDC help her prepare the forgiveness application for the 1st draw loan rather than apply for a 2nd draw PPP loan.
