An engineer and an economist will be guests on this week’s free webinar presented by the Small Business Development Center at CSU Bakersfield.  
 
Host and SBDC director, Kelly Bearden will be joined by engineer and inventor Brian Kolodji, president of Kolodji Corp. and Black Swan, LLC. Kolodji will give details on how his company’s patented technology can economically capture carbon and improve crop production with less water.  
 
Kolodji will also provide a preview of two crop carbon dioxide enrichment events to be held this week. Thursday will be a lecture at CSUB at 5:30 p.m. with world-renowned expert, Dr. Bruce Kimball. Friday will be a demonstration and lecture at the University of California Cooperative Extension Kern County, 1031 Mt. Vernon Ave. at 8 a.m. 
 
Bearden will also be joined by Dr. Aaron Hegde, chairman of the Economics Department at CSUB and co-director of the university’s Grimm Family Center for Agricultural Business. Dr. Hegde will discuss the Grimm Family Center’s planned events and programs, opportunities for student field experience and research, and the use of emerging technologies. 
 
The webinar will begin with an update from Bearden on weather-related disaster assistance for businesses from local, state, and federal governments, the economy, and capital resources programs. 
 
Questions from attendees will be taken.
