Methods small businesses can use to build an effective social media presence with little or no budget are among topics of this week’s free webinar presented by the Small Business Development Center at CSU Bakersfield.

Host and SBDC director, Kelly Bearden will be joined by Melissa Forziat, a nationwide professional marketing speaker, consultant, and author based in Hermosa Beach. Forziat will discuss how small businesses can build a powerful online presence, different methods of growing an audience and company brand critical for social media results, and how to be effective with little or no advertising budget.

Forziat works with small business owners to develop and execute strategic marketing plans and with business organizations to train their trainers in small business marketing. Previous corporate clients include the Olympic Winter Games, Rugby World Cup, and the US Olympic Committee. She is author of the free eBook and companion workbook “Small Business Marketing on a Budget.”

Additional webinar topics will include the June 30 deadline for employers to register for the CalSavers Retirement Program, updates on remaining pandemic relief programs, and small business recovery opportunities.

Questions from attendees will be taken.

This marks the 119th in the weekly “Webinar Wednesday” series that provides reopening and current pandemic relief updates on available federal, state, and local funding options, tax credit programs, employee programs, and other opportunities helpful to employers and business owners.
