Diversity and Entrepreneurship in CA: An Undergraduate Research Symposium

Friday, October 8, 2021 - 9:30am to 4:30pm

UC Berkeley undergraduates have spent the summer investigating challenges and opportunities facing entrepreneurship for women and business owners of color in the Bay Area and California.

Please join Tara Lynn Gray, Director of CalOSBA, University of California, Berkeley Institute of Governmental Studies, PolicyLink, Small Business Majority, and others as we present original research out of UC Berkeley, including recent spatial analysis of BIPOC-owned businesses across the Bay Area. The panel is titled The Road to Recovery: Addressing Inequities and Displacement of POC-Owned Small Business in California.

Topics of discussion include:

  • Key findings regarding inequitable distribution of COVID-related small business financial aid
  • How POC-owned food service businesses responded to challenges caused by the pandemic
  • Inequities in local policies designed to support small business growth

Small business owners and entrepreneurs are encouraged to attend.
