SBDC director and host, Kelly Bearden begins with updates on Kern County’s $1.2 million Microbusiness Relief Grant Program, the California Relief Grant, and the California Dream Fund Seed Grant Program. He is joined by Jonathan Herrera, director of outreach and education for the CalSavers Retirement Savings Board in the California State Treasurer’s Office.

Herrera discusses the CalSavers retirement savings program that helps employers provide their workers access to an Individual Retirement Account (IRA) with no cost to the employer or taxpayer. State law requires all businesses, and nonprofits, with five or more employees to offer a pension, 401(k) or other qualified retirement savings plan, or register for CalSavers by June 30.

This marks the 107th in the weekly “Webinar Wednesday” series that provides reopening and current pandemic relief updates on available federal, state, and local funding options, tax credit programs, employee programs, and other opportunities helpful to employers and business owners.
